Alex and Reed get super excited when a delivery truck comes to our house. Not because of what might be inside the box, but because it IS a box. They love to climb in it, jump off it, hide under it, pretend it is a boat, or a rocket, or a mud pit...whatever. The one we got today became an art studio (and later on a boogie board, but that was a little dangerous, so I couldn't take photos!)

Cookies
On a rainy Sunday morning, what better to do than make cookies! Alex and Reed helped me bake sugar cookies (with sprinkles of course!) Alex is an old pro at this, but today was Reed's first time in the kitchen as a helper. You can see he has a lot to learn - that's flour he's licking off the tablespoon!

Putt-putt golf
We decided to take the boys to putt-putt golf today. The weather has been so beautiful we couldn't pass up the opportunity to be outside. Alex did really, really well and Reed didn't kill anyone, so all in all it was very successful! Reed did get to enjoy the zebra and Brian made two hole-in-ones on the same hole. And for future reference, we'll only pay for one adult to play. I didn't hit one ball! After golf, we had a quick picnic and played at the playground. Everyone had good naps after our big morning (including Brian and me)! To round out the day, we played in the kiddie pool and cooked burgers. Fun, fun!

Reed's big day
Yesterday was Reed's first day at the "big boy school". Alex has been super excited for Reed to join him at his school, and the day has finally arrived! We were very excited too, since this means one drop off and one pick up for Brian and me.
Reed had a great day overall. He cried a little when Brian dropped him off (but he did that at his old school sometimes too) and when he saw Alex at morning devotion. They had chicken nuggets for lunch, so that was a huge hit. He was happy to see me when I came to pick him up and he was really glad to go home with Alex. He's getting so big!
On another quick note, Alex has started swimming lessons again, and he really swam today for the first time. I mean, big boy swimming -- face in the water, big arm strokes, kicking, the whole deal. And, he's moving up to the next class. Reed was glad to be there to cheer him on (and to eat some cookies!)

The 4th at the Lake
We had such a great time at the lake for the 4th of July. We did a little swimming, a little boating and a LOT of eating. We saw an awesome fireworks display right from our front yard and spent pretty much the entire weekend outside. Last year, Reed couldn't really participate in any fun lake activities, but this year, he was just a half step behind Alex for everything.
Alex jumped in the lake for the first time and Reed loved floating with Aunt Christie. Great Aunt Kath, Grandma and Pops provided lots of entertainment for them, and overall, it was just a great fun time!
