Little friend

Our good friends and neighbors, the Fields, came over this week for an impromptu dinner and drink. The boys had a GREAT time playing with their new little friend, Preston. And Preston definitely held his own with the big boys!

Tiger tailgate

We enjoyed our first Tiger tailgate and game on Saturday. We had a great time hanging out with friends and cheering on the Tigers! We even managed to stay for the whole game and watch the Tigers win.

Reed's first soccer game

Reed finally had his first soccer game this weekend! He has been ready to play for at least a year, so he was super excited. He did a great job and even scored his first goal! Brian did a good job helping coach and all the kids had fun. Reed did not want the game to be over though!

Midterm report

Alex got his first official midterm report for first grade. He did great in all his subjects - art, social studies, spelling, conduct, religion, spanish, PE, phonics, reading, science, written experience, math, english, music, handwriting. And he got a sweet comment from his teacher - "Alex is well mannered and eager to participate. He demonstrates great effort in all assignments." Big stuff!

(this is just a sample page - there were 5 pages!)

Friends and more friends

We had a friend-filled weekend, and it was great. Friday night we had a neighbor get-together at our house. The crew included old friends and new, but we all had a blast. In all, we had 12 adults and 10 kids - crazy but fun! Then after a day of soccer on Saturday, Alex had his new best buddy Jacob over for dinner. I think they had a great time playing outside, eating pizza and really enjoying the blue cupcakes!

Labor Day at the Lake 2011

We had a fantastic Labor Day weekend at the lake. After anticipating the end of construction all summer, we were super excited to finally get to enjoy all of Grandma and Pops' hard work. We played pennies and checkers, ate a ton of food and danced in the rain. The pictures speak for themselves. Fun, fun!

And...the almost complete lake house! It's amazing!
