Aunt Christie recently moved into a super-cool apartment downtown, and the boys have been dying to check it out. Saturday morning we headed down to enjoy the awesome view, great weather and good company. Grandma and Pops joined us too, and Aunt Christie made a great breakfast. After breakfast, we headed up to the roof for the view (and a little running around). Then we made our way to the media room. The boys reclined the chairs and watched Toy Story on the huge screen. Finally, we walked over for some lunch at Kooky Canuck. What a great day!

Roller skating
We've finally had a few warm days, and Alex and Reed have headed outside to use some outside Christmas presents. They got to test out their roller skates, play with the football goal post, shoot hoops and ride scooters. They had a blast!

President's Day
Alex and Reed spent a fun President's Day holiday with Grandma and Pops (and Aunt Christie). They played with all the cool toys at their house, and Alex even got to venture out into the snow. Not much accumulation, but a fun time.

Valentine's Day
I feel like we have been celebrating Valentine's Day for a week now! We had school parties on Friday, candy all day Saturday, and then we actually had to celebrate the real holiday on Sunday! In honor of the actual day, we baked heart shaped cookies and were really, really lazy. Alex asked if he could keep his pajamas on all day and so we did (they were red!). All in all a fun day with all three of my favorite valentine boys.

Playing in the sink
Lately one of Alex and Reed's favorite activities has become playing in the sink. They get out their stools and roll up their sleeves. I turn on a little bit of water and fill the sink with measuring cups, spoons, etc. They literally will stand there for an hour and play. Very cute!
Alex's Valentine's Day party
I went to Alex's Valentine's Day party today at school. They did some reading, ate a fun snack and played Valentine's bingo. They also exchanged valentines and ate lots of candy!
Last week, we were at Target buying valentines for the class. We passed a display of big candy hearts, and Alex asked if he could get one of those for Abigail (a girl in his class). I asked him why, and he replied, "because she's a girl." Oh, boy! I suggested that we get treats for everyone in the class, and he was fine with that. But, I'm not sure I'm ready for this!

Another weekend at Moz and Gramps' house
Alex and Reed are finally getting used to Moz and Gramps' new house. They had a great time last weekend. They played with blocks, did puzzles, rode the "turtle rides" and even visited with Aunt Tootsie and Aunt Linda. Looks like they had fun!

Surprise snow day
Monday morning we woke up to a surprise snow day! Alex walked out to the den and just said "wow!". The boys had a great time playing outside. They had snowball fights, played on the fort, tried to build a snowman and just ran around. Fun for all!

Super Bowl Sunday
We had a family Super Bowl party today. Lots of food, lots of laughter and lots of fun! Alex and Reed had a blast watching both the Super Bowl and the Puppy Bowl (Reed loves puppies!). We also enjoyed Alex and Reed's halftime show.

Progress report
Alex got his pre-school progress report today, and it was great! His teacher said, "Alex enjoys everything about school. He plays well and is a good friend to others. His sweet, happy nature makes him a joy in the classroom. He is eager to learn and quite intelligent." He received a CA (can accomplish) grade on most every skill. They tested things like social behavior, emotional growth, spoken language, large and fine motor development and others. He knows all the shapes and colors and can count to 28 (I think he just got distracted at that point!). All in all, a GREAT report. He got to eat on the "you are special today" plate to celebrate.
