We went to our first Redbirds game of the season, and the boys LOVED it! They watched the entire three hour game and really paid attention the whole time. They wore their new Cardinals shirts, and we even got a picture with the Cardinal's World Series trophy. Pretty cool!

Memorial Day weekend at the lake
Ohhh, it was such a good weekend at the lake! The boys played in the water, rode the kayak, threw rocks, played board games and caught fireflies. The grownups even had a little fun too - poker, puzzles, swimming, and eating. We loved sharing the whole weekend with Grandma, Pops, Aunt Christie, Aunt Kath, Moz and Uncle Rick. It was a blast (in spite of Reed's wasp sting, giant splinter and black eye) and we didn't want to leave!
Alex's field trip
Alex had a great end of the year field trip to the Botanic Garden last week. They did the jungle journey and learned all about plants that grow in the rain forest. Fun way to end the year!

Reed's preschool graduation
Reed graduated! Tonight, we had Reed's preschool graduation program. He was so cute and excited. He couldn't wait to get his diploma and head home for some cake. We were joined by his fan club - the grandparents and Aunt Christie. Congratulations, Reed!

Alex's baseball game
Finally got some good pics of Alex playing baseball. His team has been really good, and he's gotten more hits than any other first grader. Tonight, he misjudged a bounced ball and got the first injury of the season - a bloody nose! All his teammates came to check on him, and after a little ice, he was back in the game!
This is Alex sitting on the bench with Brian after the injury. He loved the ice pack made out of a plastic glove. Boys : )

Reed's tball party
Reed had a successful season at OLPH tee ball and ended the year with a pizza party. The whole team gave their "coach" (the real coach's 5th grade son) a signed ball. It was fun!
This may be one of my favorite pictures of all time - those kids are crazy!!

Alex's first baseball game
Alex had his first SLS baseball game last night. I forgot the camera card, so I only have this pic from my phone - but he was so cute in the whole uniform! He had a couple strike-outs early on, but he made a great play to get an out at first base and ended the game with a single!

Independence day
Well, it was Cinco de Mayo and not the 4th of July, but we certainly enjoyed independence day this weekend at the lake -- Alex and Reed got in the water by themselves for the first time!! I actually sat on the dock and got some sun while they jumped in and out of the water and rode on the new kayak.
Besides that, we played a little baseball, chased some fireflies and ate everything under the sun. It was beautiful weather, and we loved sharing the weekend with the Nashville Johnstons (even though I got zero photos)!
Alex is an expert kayaker - he did an amazing job! This is their morning ride around the dock, and if you turn the volume waaaay up, you can hear them having a little chat.

Reed's first field day
CTK had preschool field day for the first time this year, and Reed was so excited to participate. They had tons of events -- bean bag toss, football toss, t-ball, hurdles, soccer, and on and on. Reed hit the t-ball farther than any of the other kids and got some ohhs and ahhs from the crowd. It was such a fun time, and I can't believe we only have a few weeks left at this school we've loved so much!

Water time, already?!?
Yes, it was hot today. So what are two boys with major spring fever to do about it? Well, get out the water guns of course!
They had a great time playing with all of Alex's new water toys that he got for his birthday and some that we've had for years. The old sand table made a great "refilling station". It was a fun afternoon in the sun!
