Donut shopping

Since Reed got glasses, we spend a lot of time at the optometrist's office getting his glasses adjusted. It just so happens that the office is very near our favorite donut shop, and we often grab a donut/bribe after a good visit. Yesterday, the boys took in money, picked out and paid for their own donuts while I sat in the car. They loved it and even brought back change!

Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom was everyone's favorite, hands down. The boys loved everything - from Goofy's roller coaster to It's a Small World to the Buzz Lightyear ride. We had a full day at the park, starting with the Welcome Show and ending with the Electrical Parade and fireworks. It was a truly magical day.

Animal Kingdom

After a late night arrival, we were happy to enjoy the slower pace of the Animal Kingdom. The boys loved all the animals and rides, but I think they loved the playground most of all.

We rode the safari ride several times. We saw lions, zebras, rhinos, giraffes and tons of other animals.

They loved the underwater hippo viewing area. Super cool.

There was also a petting zoo area where they could "groom" the animals. This one crazy goat was just hanging out on the bench!



They loved the Dinoland playground - tons of slides and even an area to dig for fossils.



The only pic we got of either boy with a character - they were way more into the rides than the characters!

It was a little chilly, but that didn't stop us from having fun in the heated pool - notice the life guard in his winter gear!

We capped off the night with a Phineas and Ferb movie on the lawn at the hotel.


Such a fun day!

Surprise Disney Trip!

We surprised the boys with a trip to Disney World over the long weekend! It was pretty last minute and not super planned, but it was perfect for us. We picked the boys up from school early Thursday and broke the news on the way there. They had lots of logistical questions, but they were very excited!


After a major slowdown in Birmingham because of snow, we finally made it to the hotel and got settled in.

The next morning, we were up bright and early to start the adventures!

I LOVE this picture - Alex was taking the pic and we asked Reed to make silly faces so we would smile. We didn't realize he was IN the picture making silly faces.
