Reed's 1st soccer game

Reed had his first soccer game as a St. Louis Cardinal! It was really, really hot, but he did great and had a good time!

First day of school

Alex and Reed are in the 3rd and 1st grades! We are super excited about this year and can't wait to see what fun things are in store for these big boys. Everyone did great for the first day!

The last hurrah!

We decided to have one last hurrah before school started back. The boys and I headed down to Florence, Alabama for a quick, 24-hour trip. We swam in the pool, ate dessert at a revolving restaurant and played in some really cool fountains at night. We had a blast, and I'm so glad we were able to squeeze a little bit of extra fun out of summer!

Reed has his first SLS soccer practice. He loved it! Such a big boy...

Reed's birthday party

Reed had a day full of birthday parties! We started off with a pancake party early this morning. Reed requested a six!

This afternoon we had his party with friends at Crossfire Commandos. He had a blast and got to try out his new sports goggles. He had all his best buddies (and Alex) there, and I think they all had a great time!

Finally, we headed home and had the family over for a dinner party. Reed opened all his presents, and we had pizza and ice cream cake. What a fun day for such a fun guy!

Happy Birthday Reed!

Reed is six years old today! It's hard to believe that our baby is not so much of a baby anymore.

Reed has such a cute little personality, and he charms everyone. He may still be tiny (still hasn't broken 40 pounds), but he is mighty! He is a super athlete, giving 100% effort all the time. He is a great little brother and adores Alex. He has done such a great job with his glasses, and it's hard to imagine him without them now. I am proud of how hard he works at everything and how he refuses to be "little". He loves tall socks and all things cool. He keep us on our toes, alternating between sweet hugs and slamming doors. And he may have come into the world early, but he is a total pokey puppy. This year, he as grown so much and learned so much. He is a great reader, a good student and a sweet friend.

Reed really is a total joy to be around. He's funny and smart and delighted by life. He makes our world brighter every day, and we all enjoy life a little more because of Reed. Happy birthday, sweet Reed! We love you!

Catfish in the Barn

We enjoyed Grandma's birthday gift to Pops last night at a family dinner at Catfish in the Barn. We've been wanting to go for a while but never made the stop. We were missing out! It was awesome. The food, the view, the kid play area and the stargazing. Such a fun night! We can't wait to go back!
