Rainy weekend

I think even rainy weekends are fun at Moz and Gramps' house! The boys played in the garage, rode in the golf cart and built this awesome fort!

Basketball, basketball, basketball

It has a been a week/weekend full of basketball. On Thursday and Friday the boys watched basketball and played basketball outside in the beautiful weather. Saturday we had friends over to watch more basketball and hang out. The kids enjoyed playing outside and the adults enjoyed fun, food and drink. It was a great March weekend!

March madness

Alex got in on the selection show action this year. He couldn't keep up with filling out the bracket, but did a great job writing in a lot of the teams. Like father, like son.

Oliver's big adventure

The first "boy" in this house doesn't get much attention on this blog, but this one is all, well mostly, about Ollie. He got to go to the lake this weekend for the first time ever! We weren't sure how he would do since he's pretty neurotic and hyper, but he did great! He went for a long walk, slept in the sun and played outside. In fact, he seemed happier there than he is at home. Maybe he's like the rest of us and is just more relaxed and content at the lake. I really couldn't believe it. Yay for Ollie!

And the other boys had some fun, too. The weather was gorgeous so we played outside, went for a side trip to Savannah and just generally relaxed. We haven't been to the house since Thanksgiving, so we were way overdue for some lake time.

It's funny how easy it is to mark their changes and milestones in terms of "last time we were at the lake house." This time it was letting them play in the yard with us watching from the house, not in the yard with them. Last time, we weren't quite ready to let that happen, but this time it went great. It always reminds me how quickly they are growing up! On the ride back I think they were feeling their new independence and wanted to move their seats to the way back of the van. They definitely felt like big kids way back there!

This afternoon I was cleaning out Alex's backpack like I always do. There was a little piece of paper stuffed in the outside pocket that didn't have his handwriting on it, so casually, I asked him what it was.
Me: What is this?
Alex: Baylor's phone number.
Me: Really? Why do you have that?
Alex: She gave it to me. Just in case I need to call her sometime.
Me: Reeeeaaaaallllyyyyy...

He says that you are not allowed to have girlfriends/boyfriends in kindergarten. But, I'm not so sure!

Mardi Gras

We made our first ever king cake this year to celebrate Mardi Gras. It was really a trick-cake made of cinnamon rolls, icing and sprinkles, but it was delicious. The boys can't wait to have more for breakfast tomorrow. Happy Mardi Gras!

Family of the week

Reed is family of the week this week at preschool. He was super excited to make a poster and is even more excited about bringing a donut treat on Friday!

Sweet afternoon

Afternoons like today make me feel so incredibly lucky. A little ice cream, a little time at the park, and a whole lot of fun time with my boys. Moments like these make it totally worth cramming 40 plus hours of work into 32. I wouldn't trade those afternoons for anything!
