Fall Break 2011

Since our last trip to the lake house, we have been looking forward to getting back for a long fall break. We made it extra long by going up on Thursday night and staying until Monday afternoon. We spent Friday in Savannah, and I was amazed by how intrigued the boys were by the Civil War history in the area. We visited the Tennessee River Museum for the second time and took a side trip to Shiloh. They had a great time and loved the history lesson!

The rest of the weekend we spent just relaxing around the house - throwing rocks in the water (this is hours of fun!), playing football and baseball, going for walks and making caramel apples. Alex even spent some time reading his new "big boy" book on the front porch.

We ventured out again on Sunday for some fun at the state park while Brian and Pops played some golf. Finally, on our way home on Monday, we had lunch at Abe's in Corinth. I can't even describe the experience or the food - both were amazing.

A great, great weekend - we were not ready to come home! Until next time...
