This past year has really been about growing up. He's lost teeth and gotten taller and learned to be better and stronger at soccer and baseball and basketball. But, it's been more than that. It's been about becoming a grown-up kid, with real emotions and thoughts and feelings.
Alex is learning to watch out for other people's feelings and really understand who he wants to be. I am so proud of the glimpses of grownup that I see in Alex all the time - the way he focuses when he really wants to do something or when he goes out of his way to include a new friend at recess. I love the group of friends he's chosen and the great little friend he has become. I am amazed at how much he loves reading and the incredible memory he has for all things sporting. Alex is all boy with a little twist of sweetness. He is cute and funny and kind. And even though he's growing up, he'll always be my little boy!
