New Orelans - Part 1

We had a great trip to New Orleans over the long weekend. Brian and I love how unique the city is, and we had a great time showing the boys around. I think they loved the food the most, and I have to agree!

Our first stop on the way into town was Middendorf's restaurant. It's a place that Brian and I have wanted to try for a while, and it was the perfect stop on the drive down. It was a little chilly and cloudy, but we had fun eating indoors and trying some new foods.

Early the next morning, we were up and ready to go. Our first stop was Cafe du Monde for beignets, and they were super delicious. The boys made a huge mess with the powdered sugar and loved every minute of it. After breakfast, we stopped by the cathedral and took a kid's tour of the French Quarter. We all learned a lot, and it was fun for the boys to do something that was just for them in a city that is so grown up.

After an awesome lunch at Napoleon House, we headed over to the Insectarium. There were tons of creepy and pretty bugs, but the boys loved eating insects the most! They both tried chocolate chip cookies with crickets and chocolate covered caterpillars. I didn't try one, but they said that they were delicious.

After a rest and some pool time, we went to dinner in the French Quarter. The meal was absolutely delicious, and the boys enjoyed a root beer float for dessert. We happened to walk out of the restaurant right into a band playing on the street. It was a fun ending to a great day!
