Charleston

We had an awesome beginning of our vacation in Charleston! We stayed at a hotel that used to be the Citadel, and the boys loved imagining the military history of the place. When we first arrived, we enjoyed the farmers market (right outside the hotel) and took a carriage ride through town. Even though it rained that afternoon, we ventured out for a great night at our favorite Irish pub and cupcake spot.

On Sunday, the boys took a dip in the pineapple fountain, and then we toured Fort Moultrie. We ate lunch at King Street Grill (Brian's favorite), and I even got to do a little shopping. After a little rest, we enjoyed an awesome dinner on the patio at Juanita Greenberg's and some gelato on Upper King.

Early Monday morning, we went out to the aircraft carrier. We toured the carrier, a destroyer and a submarine. The boys loved climbing up and down all the steep ladders and stairs! Finally, we stopped at Jack's Cosmic Dogs and made our way to North Carolina for phase 2 of the vacation!
