Today, Alex's school celebrated Mother's Day early, with Muffins with Mom. We went to his regular pre-school chapel service where Pastor Neugebauer did a special Mother's Day "sermon" and the kids sang two songs about mothers. In the sermon, he talked about how mothers love their babies even though they can only poop and burp (the kids LOVED this!) and can't do anything useful like mow the grass or help with dinner. But, moms love them anyway, just like God loves all of his children even when we are not perfect and can't help ourselves. It was a great comparison for pre-schoolers and it was really interesting to see them pay close attention to such a big message.
Then we headed back to the classroom for muffins, fruit and juice. It was a fun treat to spend some extra time with Alex and I got a present...he made me a flower corsage and a potted flower of himself.
